Obscure Gastrointestinal Bleeding

Obscure gastrointestinal bleeding is the most common indication for capsule endoscopy. Capsule endoscopy is most often performed in the setting of obscure gastrointestinal bleeding. We developed a convolutional neural network for automatic detection of blood and hematic residues in the enteric lumen. Our tool achieved high performance levels, with a sensitivity and specificity of 99%, an accuracy of 99%, as well as a high image processing capability of 184 frames/second. This work has been accepted for publication on GE – Portuguese Journal of Gastroenterology. The link for the complete article will posted here soon.
